Foreclosures
As the banks’ foreclosure proceedings reach unprecedented levels in the current market, many people are left worrying not only about figuring ways to stop the foreclosure of their homes, but also about the long-term effects of foreclosures on their credit or future liability with respect to any deficiencies following the foreclosure and sale of their property. While many rush to seek the advice of a bankruptcy attorney, there are certain protections under current foreclosure laws which may not necessitate filing for bankruptcy in order to address such concerns. In some cases bankruptcy would indeed make sense and may even be necessary, but merely defaulting on a mortgage does not necessarily leave a borrower with no other options.
The foreclosure attorneys at Bar Urness provide advice to our clients based on their unique circumstances, and assist in developing a course of action that would best suit our clients’ goals and financial means. In situations where avoiding foreclosure proceedings is not an option, or where foreclosure defenses are not applicable, the attorneys at Bar Urness will assist our clients in negotiating with the banks in an attempt to reach a resolution that would not only protect our clients from long-term liabilities with respect to any deficiencies, but would also help our clients avoid bankruptcy where other options are still available.
