Spousal Maintenance Alimony
Spousal maintenance or “Alimony” is a monthly support payment from one spouse to the other. In Arizona, the support payment is referred to as Spousal maintenance. A Judge will determine whether spousal maintenance is appropriate in every case if the parties are unable to reach an agreement. Arizona spousal maintenance is not determined by a formula or calculator but rather is determined using several factors including income, duration of marriage, education and ability to support oneself. In some cases, the court will order a temporary order of support prior to the final divorce.
