Prenuptial Agreements
A prenuptial agreement is a contract between two people prior to marriage. If the agreement is prepared correctly and under the right circumstances, the agreement will provide guidance in the event of a divorce or separation. Prenuptial agreements can contain a variety of terms including spousal maintenance/alimony provisions, protection of businesses and protection of assets. Agreements are used to prevent future disputes should an issue arise. The use of a prenuptial agreement form is not recommended as each circumstance is unique and requires careful consideration. Contact one of our experienced family law attorneys to assist you with the drafting of your prenuptial agreement or to help you review a potential agreement and protection your rights.
